Clobba development at the forefront for the rest of 2022

Q2 of 2022 has seen the tenth record quarter in a row for Code, as always a massive thank you to our partners, Microsoft and our customers around the world. We are truly humbled by your on-going support. Our product focus this year is around assisting businesses to get an organizational wide view of MS related assets including MS Licenses (see below for more information), Room Systems and Teams voice management including DID range and number provisioning with support for Calling Plans, Direct Routing and Operator Connect.
Very exciting times for us and you are invited to join the ride!

Out with the old and in with the new

We’re all about development at Code and we don’t just mean our software! We have had a bit of a rebrand including our website, core colour scheme and logos. Alongside this we have moved into a new office, as you can see from the pictures below.

All employees have the option for hybrid working but as a team we thrive on being together and what better place is there to do this? We have gone for the industrial / steam punk look and feel! Featuring it’s own retro pinball machine ‘Hurricane‘.

Welcome to our new Product Marketing Manager

Our latest recruit joined the team at the start of May, so please welcome Steve Key to the Code team.

Steve’s career started over 25 years ago as a writer for a series of video games magazines, covering classic consoles such as Megadrive, SNES, Saturn, Dreamcast and PlayStation. A brief stint writing for a football magazine followed before he setup his own marketing and creative agency, Hijack Promotions, providing creative, marketing and event management support for a number of video game clients. After running this for 13 years, he moved in-house at one of these clients, Konami, to become European Brand Manager for Kojima Productions, working with iconic game designer Hideo Kojima.

A career change to Dyson followed that, initially as a Commercial Manager in the Floorcare department, launching new upright vacuums and working with the local Amercias teams, before moving to the robot category and launching the latest Dyson 360 Heurist machine. He then moved into the Image and Identity team, Dyson’s internal brand and marketing team, who governed and upheld everything around the Dyson brand internally.

He has an unhealthy passion for craft beer, horse racing, football, golf and terrible jokes. We’re delighted he’s onboard to bring some of this experience to help us drive the business onwards and upwards!

Events

NetNordic 2022

Earlier this year, we were asked to exhibit at the annual NetNordic summit alongside our long-standing partner UC Change, and in June we made our first trip out to Oslo to attend the event. Spread over two days, the first session of the event was focussed on all internal Net Nordic staff, giving us the opportunity to discuss ongoing opportunities and build new relationships. Day two however, was all about the customers!

Commsverse 2022

Taking a small leaf out of a tabloid journalism playbook, our three word summary of Commsverse 2022 would be ‘Rooms, Compliance and Wellbeing’. If don’t read anything more than that, thanks for your time!

2022 was Steve’s first experience of Commsverse and it’s been a fascinating insight for him into the new world he now works in. Strolling around the event, seeing everything on offer from the exhibitors, consistently threw up the three themes mentioned above. Read his full blog here

I spy with my little eye something beginning with M

As hybrid working becomes the norm for employees rather than a nice to have, it continues to throw up challenges and issues for employers as their workforce spreads beyond the bricks and mortar of an office. Can my team work effectively from a non-office location? How many hours are they working? Are we able to support the needs of our customers? And how do we monitor this?

Monitor is the key word here and one that is open to a deal of interpretation. If you’re monitoring someone who is regularly pulling 15 hour days and help them by bringing in an extra pair of hands, that surely is a good thing? But what if an employee routinely joins meetings late, doesn’t contribute and never stays to the end? Should that be questioned? Is that spying? Read more here
